I was super impressed with the Ponoka Stampede. The Grandstand Show with the Chuckwagons was spectacular. Makes you forget you’re in you’re in a small town… but really it’s the perfect setting for it because it just feels more down to earth. Not sure why I have never made the short trek to see the Ponoka Stampede but I am sure glad I did. Compared to the Calgary Stampede it just has a different feel. Of course I love that it’s in a small town and you’re able to be a lot closer to the action. With my media pass I got up even closer and it was awesome!
