Just 30 minutes from Edmonton, Devon’s roots are firmly planted in Alberta’s oil history — literally. Born after the legendary Leduc No. 1 discovery, Devon is a planned town built around industry, nature, and now, strongmen. We captured the action and pride of the Alberta Strongman competition during Devon Days, along with the vibrant community that supports it.

Did you know… that the town of Devon, Alberta was founded pretty much overnight because of the oil boom in the 1940’s. Oil and gas has significantly contributed to our province’s prosperity so it’s neat to take a look at the towns and the people that helped make it happen.
